Manufacturer maintenance intervals are designed conservatively for warranty protection. Tropical climates and heavy duty cycles often warrant tighter intervals than the manual specifies. Here's our recommended schedule for Caribbean and African operations.
Every 250 hours
- Engine oil + filter change
- Fuel filter primary + secondary
- Hydraulic return filter
- Air filter inspection (replace if blocked)
- Lubricate all grease points (boom pins, bucket pins, slew bearing)
Every 500 hours
- Coolant condition test + top-up
- Hydraulic fluid sample (send for analysis)
- Final drive oil change
- Slew gear oil change
- Track tension adjustment
Every 1000 hours
- Hydraulic fluid change (annual minimum)
- Hydraulic suction strainer clean/replace
- Engine valve clearance check
- Belt replacement (alternator, A/C compressor)
- Full undercarriage measurement
Every 2000 hours
- Major coolant flush + replace
- Battery replacement (preventive)
- Hydraulic-cylinder seal inspection
- Full electrical system check
