The CAT 374 is Caterpillar's flagship 70-75 ton mining-class crawler excavator and the most-deployed shovel in this weight class across Africa and the Caribbean. Powered by the 485hp Cat C15 engine and delivering 358 kN of tear-out force — the highest in its segment — the 374 is engineered for the 25,000-hour duty cycle of continuous mining operations. The 3.8 m³ bucket loads articulated dump trucks (ADTs) and rigid mining trucks in 4-6 passes, depending on bucket fill factor and truck size. The 650mm track width delivers superior stability on uneven mining terrain — important when operating on freshly-blasted bench surfaces.
