Heavy-equipment operator productivity varies dramatically by training level. We've measured 20-40% productivity differences between trained and self-taught operators on identical machines. With operator wages a relatively small share of total cost, investing in training has overwhelming ROI.

Available training routes

  1. Manufacturer-certified training — typically 1-2 weeks at dealer facility. CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi all offer.
  2. On-site training (we provide) — 1-week intensive at the customer's project site, machine-specific.
  3. Certified national institutes — Kenya's NCA, Ghana's GIESCEET, Nigeria's COREN-accredited centres.
  4. Online simulator training — increasingly common; useful for foundation skills.

What we include with every major sale

Every major-class excavator (40+ tonne) sale from us includes 1 week of on-site operator training as standard. Mid-class includes 3 days; mini class includes a half-day orientation. Operator training is one of the highest-ROI elements of our standard package.

Frequently asked

Questions buyers ask

How long does delivery to Nigeria take?

Delivery to Nigeria typically takes 5–8 weeks via Lagos container port, including pre-export inspection (3-5 days), ocean freight, customs clearance at Lagos (Apapa / Tin Can Island), and final-mile delivery to the project site. Apapa and Tin Can Island ports handle most heavy-equipment imports. We work with established clearing agents in Lagos.

Where can I buy Caterpillar excavators across the Caribbean and Africa?

Suriname Excavators supplies Caterpillar excavators to all 24 Caribbean and African countries we serve, with pre-export inspection, configuration to operating profile, and after-sales support included. See our Caterpillar model catalogue and country-availability pages for specifics.

What configurations of the CAT 320 are available?

The CAT 320 is supplied in 2 configurations: 320 (standard), 320 GC. Mid-class construction, road building, and quarry operations. See the full spec sheet for engine, bucket, dig depth, and reach details.

Do you provide operator training?

Yes. Every major-class machine sale (40+ tonne) includes one week of on-site operator training. Mid-class sales include three days. Mini-class includes a half-day orientation. Manufacturer-certified training programmes are also available through dealer networks in most markets.

What after-sales support do you provide?

Every machine is enrolled in our service tracking programme: scheduled maintenance reminders, parts pre-positioning, 72-hour field-service response for major mechanical events, and technical hotline access. Parts inventory is held in our regional warehouse for fast dispatch.
